I think most are. It is interesting that so many liberty-leaning folks are in these career fields and demonstrates a type of thinking. An engineer or computer programer is a linear thinker, and trusts the scientific method. They are willing to accept the outcome of an experiment, even if they don't like it.
Many people do not "think" this way. They might find it delightful to think of unicorns flying through the air, and if their serious study indicates that unicorns do not exists; they are not dissuaded. They will march forward believing that there might be flying unicorns and will use cliches like "you can never be sure" to defend their position.
Engineers and computer gurus typically trust logic. That is cool.
